ANS Scholarships

  • Over 20 opportunities available for under graduate and graduate students.
  • Deadlines are February 1 and April 1 of each year.
  • Travel to Washington, DC for a one week summer program
  • Represent the interests of nuclear engineering students to the federal government
  • An introduction to getting involved in nuclear energy policy
  • Apply in April for the summer program
Washington Internships for Students of Engineering (WISE)

  • Travel to Washington, DC for a 9-week summer program
  • Learn how government officials make decisions on complex technological issues and how engineers can contribute to legislative and regulatory public policy decisions.
  • Apply in December for the summer program.

ANS Glenn T. Seaborg Congressional Science and Engineering Fellowship

  • Travel to Washington, DC for one year commitment
  • Responsible to the congressional office or committee where situated, in accordance with the guidelines of the AAAS Congressional Fellowship Program
  • Application due April 1
  • Fellow receives a $60,000 annual stipend, plus up to $5,000 in travel reimbursement for expenses
  Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program

  • Application for the 2016 session of the Mirzayan¬†Fellowship will become available on June 1, 2015.
  • The stipend for the 2016 session will be $8,500.
  • There will be Mirzayan Fellowship sessions in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Innovations in Fuel Cycle Research Awards

  • Sponsored by the Department of Energy, Office of Fuel Cycle Technologies
  • Recognizes students who have published papers in disciplines related to the nuclear fuel cycle.
  • Application due in March
